Where to Shoot in DFW: My 4 Fav Spots :)
Finding the perfect backdrop is half the battle. After spending the last year exploring Fort Worth and the surrounding areas, these are my "go-to" spots for a variety of styles:
- The Fort Worth Stockyards: For that classic Texas feel, you can't beat the Stockyards. While the cactus gardens are a favorite, I love utilizing a specific industrial spiral staircase I’ve found that adds a modern, architectural edge to your photos.
- Kimbell Art Museum: This is my favorite spot for "Architectural meets Nature." The clean lines of the building paired with the soft natural light make for a high-end, editorial look that fits my warm, true-to-color editing style perfectly.
- Airfield Falls: If you want nature and a "hidden gem" feel, this park features a stunning waterfall that feels miles away from the city. It’s a fantastic spot for families and adventurous couples.
- Murrell Park: I saved my absolute favorite for last! Located on the shores of Lake Grapevine, this spot is a photographer’s dream. It offers two distinct looks: beautiful wooded areas that provide perfect shade for midday shoots, and rocky "cliffs" that overlook the water. The sunset here is unmatched—the way the light reflects off the lake creates a golden glow that is simply perfect for engagements and family portraits. If you're looking for a location that feels like a getaway, this is it!
